The Houston Roughnecks signed tight end Malcolm Epps on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Malcolm Epps is six foot six and weighs 255 pounds. The 24-year-old from Houston, Texas, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and later received a rookie minicamp invite from the Indianapolis Colts. The Houston Roughnecks drafted Epps in the sixth round (42nd pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft.
Collegiately, Epps played three seasons at Texas (2018-20) making 24 catches for 292 yards, four touchdowns, 60 yards rushing, and one tackle (1 solo) in 23 games for the Longhorns.
Next, he transferred to USC in 2021 making 10 catches for 173 yards, and one touchdown in 12 games for the Trojans. Then, Epps transferred to Pittsburgh in 2023 making 9 catches for 133 yards in 11 games for the Panthers.
In high school, Epps was named an All-American and a three-time all-district honoree. He played in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game. In three seasons, Epps made 58 receptions for 999 yards (17.2 YPC) and 12 touchdowns. He was named First Team All-District 16-6A in 2017.
