B.C. Lions QB Vernon Adams Jr. to miss time with a right knee injury

The B.C. Lions announced on Friday that quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. will be out week-to-week with a right knee injury sustained in Thursday night’s 25-0 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Adams Jr. injured his right knee in the fourth quarter and Jake Dolegala finished the game.

“After being further evaluated by our team physicians this morning, it has been confirmed that Vernon’s injury is not long-term and that he is out week-to-week,” said head coach and general manager Rick Campbell.

Vernon Adams Jr. completed 8 of 17 passes (47%) for 74 yards, one interception, and one carry for one yard against the Blue Bombers. The 31-year-old from Pasadena, California, completed 167 of 259 passes (64.4%) for 2,469 yards, 14 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, 34 carries for 167 yards, and two touchdowns in 8 games.
