The Edmonton Elks placed defensive back Marcus Lewis (Foot) on the six-game injured reserve list on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Marcus Lewis is six foot one and weighs 196 pounds. The 28-year-old from Washington, DC, made 13 tackles and one interception in seven games this season.

Lewis played four games for the Ottawa Redblacks in 2021 with nine tackles. Then in February, Lewis signed with the Edmonton Elks before being released before training camp. The Philadelphia Stars drafted Lewis in the ninth round (71st pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Lewis made 13.5 tackles and two pass breakups in six games last season with Philadelphia. After he was released by Philadelphia, he was claimed off waivers by the New Jersey Generals.

Then, the Edmonton Elks signed Lewis on April 17, 2023. He attended training camp and was released on May 16, 2023. He later re-signed with the Elks on June 19, 2023. In 2023, Lewis made 34 tackles and four interceptions in 13 games.

Collegiately, Lewis played two seasons at Florida State (2015-16) with 21 tackles, two pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one interception in 12 games. Then, he transferred to Maryland (2017-18) with 44 tackles, two interceptions, six pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 16 games.
