The Ottawa Redblacks released running back Amlicar Polk and defensive back Sherrod Baltimore on Sunday.
Amlicar Polk is five foot ten and weighs 200 pounds. The 24-year-old from Hamilton, Ontario, had 8 carries for 33 yards in one preseason game for the Redblacks in 2023. The Redblacks drafted Polk in the seventh round (58th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft.
In 2024, Polk appeared in two preseason games with five carries for 17 yards earning a spot on the practice squad. Polk dressed for six games this season recording no stats.
Collegiately, Polk played five seasons at the University of Ottawa (2018-19, 2021-23) with 187 carries for 1,228 yards, 11 touchdowns, 20 catches for 205 yards, 1 touchdown, and 4 kick returns for 88 yards in 31 games for the Gee-Gees. He was named Lumsden-Avery Award for Sportsmanship and Dedication in 2022 and First Team OUA All-Star in 2023.
Sherrod Baltimore is five foot ten and weighs 177 pounds. The 31-year-old from Fort Washington, Maryland, made eight tackles in five games for the Redblacks in 2024. The Ottawa Redblacks signed Baltimore as a free agent on April 5, 2017.
In seven seasons in Ottawa, Baltimore has made 158 tackles, four tackles on special teams, four interceptions, and one forced fumble in 65 games. made 16 tackles, two tackles on special teams, and two interceptions in ten games for the Ottawa Redblacks in 2023. Baltimore became a free agent on February 14, 2024, and he re-signed with Ottawa on June 10, 2024.
Collegiately, Baltimore played four seasons at the University of Maine (2012-15) with 47 tackles (33 solo, 14 assists), three tackles for loss, three interceptions, and ten pass breakups in 24 games for the Black Bears.
