Official: Montreal Alouettes sign quarterback Dominique Davis

The Montreal signed quarterback Dominique Davis on Tuesday. This signing comes after backup quarterback Caleb Evans will miss the rest of the 2024 season with a right knee injury. Davis’s signing was first reported by The Canadian Press’s Dan Ralph.

Dominique Davis is six foot four and weighs 215 pounds. The 35-year-old from Lakeland, Florida, completed 9 of 21 passes (43%) for 74 yards, 32 carries for 65 yards, and one touchdown in 18 games for the B.C. Lions in 2023. The Lions signed Davis as a free agent on February 15, 2023, and he became a free agent on February 13, 2024.

Davis signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played one regular season game completing 5 of 7 passes (71.4%) for 34 yards. In addition, he has stints with the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts.

Davis signed with the Calgary Stampeders on February 24, 2015, but was released on June 15, 2015, and signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on June 29, 2015.

Davis spent three seasons in Winnipeg completing 33 of 54 passes (61%) for 377 yards, and 16 carries for 66 yards in 17 games for the Blue Bombers. Next, Davis signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on February 12, 2018. He played three seasons in Ottawa completing 283 of 449 passes (63%) for 3,263 yards, 11 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 88 carries for 257 yards, and 13 touchdowns in 31 games.

Then, Davis signed with the Montreal Alouettes on February 4, 2022. In 2022, Davis completed 19 of 25 passes (76%) for 253 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, 63 carries for 111 yards, and 13 touchdowns for the Alouettes.

Collegiately, Davis played one season at Boston College in 2008 completing 63 of 138 passes (45.7%) for 741 yards, six touchdowns, four interceptions, 43 carries for 48 yards, and two touchdowns in six games for the Eagles.

Then, he transferred to Fort Scott Community College in 2009 completing 113 of 215 passes (52.5%) for 1,467 yards, six touchdowns, eight interceptions, 62 carries for 31 yards, and 12 touchdowns in 12 games for the Greyhounds.

Finally, he transferred to East Carolina (2010-11) completing 903 of 1,456 passes (62%) for 9,400 yards, 74 touchdowns, 47 interceptions, 277 carries for 392 yards, and 28 touchdowns in 43 games for the Pirates.
