The San Antonio Brahmas released linebackers Marcus Haynes and Zach Morton on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page. The Brahmas will retain their rights if they return to the UFL.
Marcus Haynes is six foot four and weighs 240 pounds. The 26-year-old from Bowie, Maryland, signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023.
He spent part of the season on the practice squad. The Broncos released him on November 27, 2023, and he signed with the Houston Texans on February 16, 2024. The Texans released him on June 4, 2024. Haynes signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on August 2, 2024.
Collegiately, Haynes played six seasons at Old Dominion (2017-22) making 102 tackles (55 solo, 47 assists), 22 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, and five pass breakups in 49 games for the Monarchs.
Zach Morton is six foot four and weighs 261 pounds. The 25-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023, but was released on August 5, 2023. Morton signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on May 7, 2024. He made three tackles (3 assists) and half a sack in two games.
Collegiately, Morton played two seasons at Syracuse (2019-20) recording no stats in six games for the Orange. Then, Morton transferred to Akron (2021-22) making 61 tackles (24 solo, 37 assists), 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions for 24 yards, one touchdown, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two blocked kicks in 24 games for the Zips.
