The San Francisco 49ers signed Birmingham Stallions defensive tackle Jonathan Garvin on Friday. The Stallions released him on Thursday and will retain his rights should he return to the UFL.
Jonathan Garvin is six foot four and weighs 257 pounds. The 24-year-old from Lake Worth, Florida, signed with the Birmingham Stallions on March 14, 2024. In 2024, Garvin made 19 tackles (12 solo, 7 assists), one tackle for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles, in 10 games helping the Stallions win their third straight championship (2 USFL, 1 UFL).
Garvin was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (242nd pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Green Bay making 32 tackles (17 solo, 15 assists), one tackle for loss, 1.5 sacks, two quarterback hits, and two pass breakups in 38 games. Garvin was released by the Packers on July 28, 2023.
Collegiately, Garvin played three seasons at Miami (FL) (2017-19) with 106 tackles (46 solo, 60 assists), 29 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and one blocked punt in 38 games for the Hurricanes.
