The Montreal Alouettes placed wide receiver Tyson Philpot (Foot) on the six-game injured list on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page. Philpot injured his foot in the first quarter after attempting to break a tackle from Richard Leonard in last week’s game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Tyson Philpot is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 24-year-old from Delta, British Columbia, made 58 catches on 72 targets for 779 yards, and five touchdowns in 9 games this season.

The Alouettes drafted Philpot in the first round (9th pick) of the 2022 CFL Draft. In 2022, Philpot made 39 catches for 459 yards, two touchdowns, one carry for 16 yards, and 12 kick returns for 342 yards in 18 games. He was the winner of the Frank M. Gibson Trophy in 2022.

In 2023, Philpot made 47 catches for 532 yards, five touchdowns, two carries for nine yards, and seven kick returns for 146 yards in 13 games for the Alouettes in 2023.

In the 110th Grey Cup, Philpot caught a game-winning 19-yard touchdown to beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 28-24 in Hamilton. He was named the Grey Cup Most Valuable Canadian.

Collegiately, Philpot played four seasons at the University of Calgary (2018-21) with 96 catches for 1,953 yards, 16 touchdowns, 13 carries for 181 yards, ten kick returns for 238 yards, and eight punt returns for 152 yards in 22 games for the Dinos.

Philpot was named First Team All-Canadian in 2021, winner of the Peter Gorman Trophy (Rookie of the Year) in 2018, and a Vanier Cup champion in 2019.
