The St. Louis Battlehawks re-signed defensive back Qwynnterrio Cole and long snapper Alex Matheson on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Qwynnterrio Cole is six foot and weighs 203 pounds. The 25-year-old from Memphis, Tennessee, signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022.

Then, Cole was drafted by the Seattle Sea Dragons (XFL) in the seventh round (55th pick) in Phase 2 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, Cole made 48 tackles (32 solo, 16 assists), three tackles for loss, two pass breakups, three interceptions for 54 yards, and one quarterback hit in 10 games.

Then, Cole was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Cole made 57 tackles (31 solo, 26 assists), three tackles for loss, two interceptions for 15 yards, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 9 games. In the XFL Conference Championship Game against the San Antonio Brahmas, Cole made 8 tackles (5 solo, 3 assists).

Collegiately, Cole played three seasons at Alcorn State (2017-19) making 170 tackles (96 solo, 74 assists), 5 tackles for loss, 8 interceptions for 117 yards, and one touchdown in 38 games for the Braves. He was named a two-time HBCU All-American and First Team All-SWAC.

Then, Cole transferred to Louisville in 2021 making 87 tackles (65 solo, 22 assists), 5 tackles for loss, one interception for 29 yards, 7 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 13 games for the Cardinals. He was an All-ACC Honorable Mention after the season.

Alex Matheson is six foot five and weighs 252 pounds. The 29-year-old from Marshall, Minnesota, was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) in the 11th round (72nd pick) in the 2023 XFL Supplemental Draft. He played three games before he was released on December 22, 2023, and signed with the Los Angeles Rams on December 26, 2023. The Rams released him on January 2, 2024, and Matheson re-signed with the Battlehawks on January 22, 2024. Matheson played 10 games in 2024. He helped the Battlehawks rank first in field goals (19).

Collegiately, Matheson played two seasons at Minnesota State University (2014-15) making three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in 17 games for the Mavericks. In 2015, Minnesota State’s offense rushed for 2,672 yards and 36 touchdowns and 2,752 passing yards and 22 touchdowns.

Next, Matheson transferred to Concordia University in 2019 making three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist) on special teams in 11 games for the Bears. Then, Matheson went to California Lutheran in 2021 making one tackle (1 solo) in six games for the Kingsmen.
