The San Antonio Brahmas released defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman on Saturday according to the UFL Transactions page as he is signing with an NFL team. According to Aaron Wilson, Twyman worked out for the New York Jets six days ago.
Jaylen Twyman is six foot two and weighs 285 pounds. The 24-year-old from Washington, D.C., signed with the Birmingham Stallions on December 24, 2023. He made one tackle (1 solo) in one game for the Birmingham Stallions in 2024 before he was released on May 1, 2024.
Then, the San Antonio Brahmas signed Twyman on May 16, 2024. He made 4 tackles (3 solo, 1 assist) and two sacks in two games. He finished the season making five tackles (4 solo, 1 assist), two sacks, and one pass breakup in three games. In the 2024 UFL playoffs, Twyman appeared in one game but recorded no stats.
Twyman was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round (199th pick) in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons on Minnesota’s practice squad. Then, he signed with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent on October 12, 2022, and spent the season on the practice squad. In 2023, Twyman made five tackles (2 solo, 3 assists) and 1.5 sacks in three preseason games for the Miami Dolphins.
Collegiately, Twyman played four seasons at Pittsburgh (2017-20) with 57 tackles (29 solo, 28 assists), 13.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and two pass breakups in 26 games for the Panthers.
