The Birmingham Stallions re-signed quarterback J’Mar Smith and wide receiver Marlon Williams on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

J’Mar Smith is six foot one and weighs 218 pounds. The 27-year-old from Meridian, Mississippi, re-signed with the Stallions on August 11, 2023. He did not see any action in 2024.

Smith signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2020. After New England, he had a tryout with the Green Bay Packers before signing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) on May 17, 2021, and was assigned to the practice squad. However, he was released a month later.

The Birmingham Stallions drafted Smith in the 12th round (96th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft. Smith completed 131 of 239 passes (54.8%) for 1,573 yards, ten touchdowns, six interceptions, 38 carries for 187 yards, and two touchdowns in nine games, of which seven were starts for the Stallions. He is a two-time USFL Champion.

In 2023, Smith completed 10 of 15 passes (66.7%) for 160 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and two carries for one yard against the New Jersey Generals in Week 1 before suffering an injury on his left non-throwing ring finger and missed the rest of the 2023 season as the Stallions won their second USFL Championship over the Pittsburgh Maulers.

Collegiately, Smith played four seasons at Louisiana Tech (2016-19) completing 759 of 1,280 passes (59%) for 9,523 yards, 51 touchdowns, 21 interceptions, 326 carries for 856 yards, and 15 touchdowns in 44 games for the Bulldogs.

He was named First Team All-Conference USA, and C-USA Offensive Player of the Year in 2019 after completing 236 of 367 passes (64%) for 2,977 yards, 18 touchdowns, five interceptions, 100 carries for 264 yards, and four touchdowns in 11 games.

Marlon Williams is five foot eleven and weighs 204 pounds. The 23-year-old from Mobile, Alabama, re-signed with the Stallions on July 18, 2023. In 2024, Williams made 26 catches for 313 yards, four touchdowns, and three carries for 24 yards in 9 games. In the 2024 UFL Playoffs, Williams made 7 catches for 86 yards helping the Stallions with their third consecutive championship (2 USFL, 1 UFL).

The Birmingham Stallions drafted Williams in the seventh round (332nd pick) in the 2022 USFL Supplemental Draft. In his first season, Williams led the team with 32 catches for 474 yards, and four touchdowns in nine games for the Stallions in 2022. In 2023, Williams played one game making three catches for 23 yards before an injury sidelined him for the rest of the season.

Collegiately, Williams played four seasons at the University of Central Florida (2017-20) with 157 catches for 2,260 yards, 19 touchdowns, seven carries for 79 yards, eight kick returns for 135 yards, and seven punt returns for 28 yards in 44 games for the Knights.
