The St. Louis Battlehawks re-signed placekicker Andre Szmyt on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Andre Szmyt is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 25-year-old from Lake Forest, Illinois, signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. The Bears released him on August 8, 2023.

The St. Louis Battlehawks signed Szmyt on January 22, 2024. In 2024, Szmyt made 19 of 21 field goals (90.5%) with a long of 61 field goals, 30 kickoffs for 1,973 yards with a long of 80 yards, and one touchback in 10 games.

Collegiately, Szmyt played five seasons at Syracuse (2018-22) making 85 of 105 field goals (81%) with a long of 54 yards, 199 of 199 extra points made, 57 kickoffs for 3,513 yards (61.6 AVG), and 12 touchbacks in 25 games for the Orange. He was named First Team All-ACC, Unanimous All-American, and winners of the Lou Groza Award, and the Vlade Award.
