The St. Louis Battlehawks re-signed defensive backs Keylon Kennedy and Myles Sims on Friday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Keylon Kennedy is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 24-year-old from Daytona Beach, Florida, was drafted by the Vegas Vipers (XFL) in the first round (8th pick) in Phase 2 of the 2022 XFL Draft. In 2023, Kennedy made 40 tackles (34 solo, 6 assists), three tackles for loss, four pass breakups, two interceptions for 18 yards, and one forced fumble.
Kennedy was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Kennedy made five tackles (4 solo, 1 assist) in six games before he was placed on injured reserve and missed the rest of the season.
Collegiately, Kennedy played one season at Fort Hayes State University in 2018 making 49 tackles (37 solo, 12 assists), two tackles for loss, and eight pass breakups in 12 games for the Tigers. He was named an All-MIAA Honorable Mention in 2018.
Then, Kennedy transferred to Garden City Community College (2020-21) making 35 tackles (23, 12 assists), two tackles for loss, two interceptions, 10 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and three blocked kicks in 16 games for the Broncbusters.
Myles Sims is six foot three and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and attended the Kansas City Chiefs rookie minicamp. The St. Louis Battlehawks drafted Sims in the ninth round (69th pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft.
Collegiately, Sims attended Michigan in 2018 but did not play a game for the Wolverines. Then, he transferred to Georgia Tech (2019-23) making 136 tackles (95 solo, 41 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, 19 pass breakups, and two interceptions in 53 games for the Yellow Jackets. In 2023, Sims made 37 tackles (21 solo, 16 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, six pass breakups, and one interception in 12 games.
