The Memphis Showboats re-signed wide receiver Jonathan Adams, offensive lineman James Tunstall, defensive linemen John Atkins Sr. and Dillon Faamatau, linebacker Jordan Ferguson, and long snapper Turner Bernard on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Jonathan Adams is six foot three and weighs 220 pounds. The 25-year-old from Jonesboro, Arkansas, was drafted by the Memphis Showboats in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Adams made 33 catches for 442 yards, one touchdown, and 7 kick returns for 94 yards in 10 games.

Adams signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He played one preseason game before he was released. The New Orleans Breakers drafted Adams in the 15th round (120th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Adams made 31 catches for 406 yards, and three touchdowns in ten games for the Breakers. In 2023, Adams made 40 catches for 477 yards and one touchdown in ten games.

Collegiately, Adams played four seasons at Arkansas State (2017-20) with 108 catches for 1,518 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 11 kick returns for 226 yards in 35 games for the Red Wolves. He was named Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2019.

James Tunstall is six foot seven and weighs 310 pounds. The 24-year-old from Indian Head, Maryland, signed with the Memphis Showboats on February 28, 2024. Tunstall played 8 games, of which 7 were starts. In 2024, Memphis’s offense ranked last in total offense (2,303), rushing yards (650), passing yards (1,653), yards per game (230.3), and seventh in touchdowns (21).

The Miami Dolphins signed Tunstall as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. He played three preseason games for the Miami Dolphins in 2023.

Collegiately, Tunstall played one season at Connecticut in 2018 playing five games as a redshirt freshman. Next, he transferred to Stony Brook in 2019 playing left tackle in 12 games for the Seawolves. He was named First Team All-American by Hero Sports.

Then, Tunstall transferred to Cincinnati (2021-22) playing left tackle in 27 games for the Bearcats. In 2022, Cincinnati’s offense was 16th in the nation leading the offense in red zone offense (.902), and 21st in the nation for fourth down conversion rate (.619). He was named Second Team All-AAC after the season.

John Atkins Sr. is six foot three and weighs 320 pounds. The 31-year-old from Thomson, Georgia, re-signed with the Memphis Showboats on December 6, 2023. In 2024, Atkins Sr. made 21 tackles (10 solo, 11 assists) and one fumble recovery in 10 games.

Atkins Sr. signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He would also spend time with the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons playing 14 games with 22 tackles (14 solo, 8 assists).

The Memphis Showboats (then the Tampa Bay Bandits) drafted Atkins Sr. in the 26th round (210th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Atkins made 26 tackles (13 solo, 13 assists) two tackles for loss, half a sack, and one pass breakup in ten games for the Bandits.

In 2023, Atkins Sr. made 29 tackles (13 solo, 16 assists), four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and seven pass breakups in ten games. He was named to the All-USFL Team in 2023.

Collegiately, Atkins played four seasons at Georgia (2014-17) with 81 tackles (30 solo, 51 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 36 games for the Bulldogs.

Dillon Faamatau is six foot three and weighs 295 pounds. The 27-year-old from Norwalk, California, made 10 tackles (6 solo, 4 assists), one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 10 games for the Memphis Showboats in 2024.

Faamatau played two seasons with the Arizona Rattlers (IFL) making 31 tackles (19 solo, 12 assists), 3 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one quarterback hit, and one blocked kick in 18 games. Then, Faamatau signed with the Memphis Showboats in 2023. He made 11 tackles (6 solo, 5 assists) and 1 tackle for loss in 4 games in 2023.

Collegiately, Faamatau started at Arizona State in 2015 but did not play for the Sun Devils. Next, he transferred to Cerritos College in 2016 making 32 tackles (10 solo, 22 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 1 blocked punt in 10 games for the Falcons. Then, he transferred to Oklahoma (2017-19) making 31 tackles (11 solo, 20 assists, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup in 41 games for the Sooners.

Jordan Ferguson is six foot two and weighs 271 pounds. The 25-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, re-signed with the Showboats on September 29, 2023. In 2024, Ferguson made 45 tackles (31 solo, 14 assists), 7 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and one fumble recovery in 10 games.

The Memphis Showboats signed Ferguson as a free agent on May 25, 2023. He made seven tackles (3 solo, 4 assists), one tackle for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in four games for the Showboats in 2023. After the season, Ferguson signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He played three preseason games with nine tackles (4 solo, 5 assists) and one sack.

Collegiately, Ferguson played five seasons at Middle Tennessee State (2017-22) with 214 tackles (115 solo, 99 assists), 46.5 tackles for loss, 22 sacks, two interceptions for five yards, nine pass breakups, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick in 59 games for the Blue Raiders. He was named First Team All-Conference USA in 2022.

Turner Bernard is six foot one and weighs 239 pounds. The 26-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona, was drafted by the Memphis Showboats in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Bernard played 10 games. He helped kicker Matt Coghlin finish fourth in field goals (16 of 17 attempts).

Turner signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2020. The New Orleans Breakers drafted Bernard in the seventh round (330th pick) of the 2022 USFL Supplemental Draft. Bernard played ten games for the Breakers in 2022. In 2023, he played ten games.

Collegiately, Bernard played five seasons at San Diego State (2016-20) playing 51 games for the Aztecs with three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists). He was named First Team All-Mountain by Phil Steele Magazine in 2019.
