The Toronto Argonauts are set to sign defensive back Kenneth George Jr. on Monday according to The Canadian Press’s Dan Ralph.
Kenneth George Jr. is five foot eleven and weighs 203 pounds. The 27-year-old from Lafayette, Louisiana, signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 16, 2022, but he was released on August 9, 2022.
Next, he signed with the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) on January 6, 2023. He was released by the Roughnecks on January 24, 2023. Then, George Jr. signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on February 22, 2023. In 2023, George Jr. made 43 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and one forced fumble in 18 games. This year, George Jr. made 39 tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown in 10 games. The Ticats released him on August 20, 2024.
Collegiately, George Jr. played one season at Trinity Valley Community College in 2017 with 27 tackles (24 solo, 3 assists), 8 pass breakups, and two interceptions for 46 yards in 11 games for the Cardinals.
Then, he transferred to Tennessee (2018-21) with 52 tackles (36 solo, 16 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception for 24 yards, ten pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 33 games for the Volunteers. In his final season, George Jr. made five tackles (4 solo, 1 assist) and one tackle for loss in eight games.
