The Montreal Alouettes re-signed wide receiver Austin Mack to a four-year contract extension through the 2028 season on Tuesday.
“Mack is an important piece of this team and we just demonstrated it with this agreement,” said Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia. This receiver has shown great chemistry on the field with our quarterbacks as well as with the other teammates, we are very excited that he will be an Alouette for many years.”
Austin Mack is six foot two and weighs 205 pounds. The 26-year-old from Fort Wayne, Indiana, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on August 19, 2024. Mack made his season debut last Sunday against the Edmonton Elks making 3 catches for 32 yards.
Mack signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He played 11 games for the Giants in 2020 with seven catches for 91 yards. He also had stints with the Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers.
The Montreal Alouettes signed Mack on May 4, 2023. In 2023, Mack made 78 catches for 1,154 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games. In the 110th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Mack made six catches for 103 yards, and one touchdown helping the Alouettes win the Grey Cup. He was named a CFL All-Star and CFL East All-Star in 2023.
The Alouettes released Mack on January 8, 2024. He signed with the Atlanta Falcons on January 10, 2024. Mack played one preseason game against the Miami Dolphins targeted one time and recorded no stats. The Falcons released him on August 12, 2024.
Collegiately, Mack played three seasons at Ohio State (2017-19) with 77 catches for 1,035 yards and six touchdowns in 33 games for the Buckeyes.
