The San Antonio Brahmas re-signed wide receiver Justin Smith, linebacker Tavante Beckett, and defensive backs BoPete Keyes, Corey Mayfield Jr., and Derrick Langford, and signed wide receiver Matthew Sexton, offensive lineman Alex Pihlstrom, and defensive tackle Bryan Mone on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Justin Smith is six foot two and weighs 180 pounds. The 26-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, was drafted by the San Antonio Brahmas in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Smith made 25 catches for 265 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 9 games. In the 2024 UFL Playoffs, Smith made 5 catches for 79 yards and one touchdown.

Smith was drafted by the Houston Roughnecks in the fifth round (40th pick) in Phase 1 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, Smith made 16 catches for 238 yards and one touchdown in 9 games.

Collegiately, Smith played four seasons at Norfolk State (2017-19, 2021) making 102 catches for 1,741 yards, 15 touchdowns, 2 carries for 5 yards, 5 punt returns for 42 yards, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 42 games for the Spartans. He was named First Team All-MEAC in 2021.

Tavante Beckett is five foot ten and weighs 220 pounds. The 25-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia, was drafted by the San Antonio Brahmas in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, he made 72 tackles (47 solo, 25 assists), 9 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and two forced fumbles in 10 games on his way to being named to the All-UFL Team. In the 2024 UFL Playoffs, Beckett made 11 tackles (8 solo, 3 assists) and one forced fumble.

Beckett signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2021. He played four games for the Lions recording no stats. The Lions released him on May 10, 2022. The Houston Roughnecks drafted Beckett in the third round (20th pick) in Phase 3 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, Beckett made 63 tackles (34 solo, 29 assists), 3 tackles for loss, 5 pass breakups, half a sack, two interceptions for 60 yards, and one touchdown in 10 games.

Collegiately, Beckett played two seasons at Virginia Tech (2016-17) making 6 tackles (2 solo, 4 assists) and half a tackle for loss in 16 games for the Hokies. Then, he transferred to Marshall (2019-20) making 211 tackles (80 solo, 131 assists), 14.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one interception, six pass breakups, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 22 games for the Thundering Herd.

BoPete Keyes is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 26-year-old from Laurel, Mississippi, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on February 25, 2024. In 2024, Keyes made 14 tackles (9 solo, 5 assists), 1 tackle for loss, and one pass breakup in 6 games. In the 2024 UFL Playoffs, Keyes made one tackle (1 solo).

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Keyes in the seventh round (237th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Keyes also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, and Cleveland Browns. He played 13 NFL games making 9 tackles (8 solo, 1 assist).

Collegiately, Keyes played four seasons at Tulane (2016-19) making 95 tackles (76 solo, 19 assists), two interceptions, and 19 pass breakups in 40 games for the Mean Green. In 2018, he recorded five tackles against Louisiana-Lafayette in the AutoNation Cure Bowl.

Corey Mayfield Jr. is five foot ten and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Forney, Texas, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on January 9, 2024. In 2024, Mayfield Jr. made 25 tackles (21 solo, 4 assists) and four pass breakups in 10 games. In the 2024 UFL playoffs, Mayfield Jr. made 6 tackles (4 solo, 2 assists) and one pass breakup in two games.

Mayfield Jr. signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. The Ravens released him on August 28, 2023.

Collegiately, Mayfield Jr. played five seasons at the University of Texas-San Antonio (2018-22) making 167 tackles (134 solo, 33 assists), 13 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 7 interceptions for 73 yards, 1 touchdown, 27 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 61 games for the Roadrunners. He was named First Team All-C-USA and a two-time All-C-USA Honorable Mention.

Derrick Langford is six foot one and weighs 205 pounds. The 25-year-old from Richmond, California, signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He played three preseason games with 8 tackles (7 solo, 1 assist), and two pass breakups.

Next, Langford signed with the New Jersey Generals on October 31, 2023. Langford became a free agent after the Generals were not included in the USFL and XFL merger forming the United Football League (UFL). Langford signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on May 16, 2024. In 2024, Langford made two tackles (2 solo) in one game.

Collegiately, Langford played one season at San Francisco Community College in 2018 with 30 tackles (25 solo, 5 assists), one interception, and four pass breakups in 11 games for the Rams.

Then, Langford transferred to Washington State (2019-22) with 91 tackles (60 solo, 31 assists), one tackle for loss, four interceptions for 71 yards, one touchdown, 17 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 39 games for the Cougars.

Matthew Sexton is five foot ten and weighs 176 pounds. The 26-year-old from Clinton, Michigan, played for the Aviators (TSL) in 2020 before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 31, 2021. He also had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins.

Sexton was drafted by the Vegas Vipers (XFL) in the eighth round (60th pick) in Phase 1 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, Sexton made 23 catches for 364 yards, 3 kick returns for 49 yards, and 13 punt returns for 101 yards in 10 games.

Collegiately, Sexton played four seasons at Eastern Michigan (2016-19) making 100 catches for 1,335 yards, 9 touchdowns, 6 carries for 23 yards, 21 kick returns for 353 yards, 2 punt returns for 77 yards, and one touchdown in 43 games for the Eagles.

Alex Pihlstrom is six foot six and weighs 305 pounds. The 25-year-old from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2024, and was released on August 29, 2024. Pihlstrom signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on April 11, 2024, and played one game for San Antonio. He was released by the Brahmas on April 29, 2024.

Collegiately, Pihlstrom played six seasons at Illinois (2017-22) playing center, left guard, and tight end in 31 games for the Fighting Illini. He was named Second Team All-Big Ten and an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2022. In addition, he was part of the first offensive line in Illinois history to be named a Joe Moore Award finalist.

Bryan Mone is six foot three and weighs 345 pounds. The 28-year-old from Salt Lake City, Utah, signed with the Seattle Seahawks on April 28, 2019. Mone played four seasons in Seattle making 73 tackles (33 solo, 40 assists), 3 tackles for loss, 7 quarterback hits, 2 sacks, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 41 games.

Collegiately, Mone played five seasons at Michigan (2014-18) making 42 tackles (8 solo, 34 assists), 5 tackles for loss, half a sack, two pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 48 games for the Wolverines. He was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2018.
