The Temple Owls (0-1) kicked off the 2024 college football season on Friday night at the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium against the Oklahoma Sooners (1-0). Temple turned the ball over six times and Oklahoma scored 27 points off of those turnovers to beat the Owls 51-3.

Temple had 197 yards on offense (130 yards passing, 67 yards rushing) and 13 first downs. Quarterback Forrest Brock completed 12 of 25 passes (48%) for 128 yards, 2 interceptions, and 14 carries for -2 yards. Running back E.J. Wilson had 6 carries for 31 yards.

Wide receiver Dante Wright made three catches for 36 yards, and Ashton Allen made two catches for 19 yards. Kicker Maddux Trujillo made one field goal for 49 yards. Temple’s defense made 66 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and three pass breakups.

Oklahoma had 378 yards on offense (161 yards passing, 217 yards rushing) and 18 first downs. Quarterback Jackson Arnold completed 17 of 25 passes (68%) for 141 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 11 carries for 34 yards. Running back Taylor Tatum had 4 carries for 66 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for three yards.

Tight end Bauer Sharp made 5 catches for 47 yards, and one touchdown, while wide receiver Deion Burks made 6 catches for 36 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Kicker Tyler Keltner made 3 of 3 field goals with a long of 50 yards. Oklahoma’s defense made 62 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, two interceptions, three pass breakups, and one touchdown.
