The Memphis Showboats re-signed offensive lineman Salesi Uhatafe, linebacker Anthony Butler, and placekicker Matt Coghlin on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Salesi Uhatafe is six foot four and weighs 320 pounds. The 29-year-old from Euless, Texas, was drafted by the Memphis Showboats in the sixth round (42nd pick) of the 2024 UFL Super Dispersal Draft. He played six games, of which three were starts for the Showboats in 2024.

In 2024, Memphis’s offense ranked last in total offense (2,303), rushing yards (650), passing yards (1,653), yards per game (230.3), and seventh in touchdowns (21).

The Atlanta Falcons signed Uhatafe as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2018. He was released on September 1, 2018. He also spent time with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Salt Lake Stallions (AAF), Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Renegades (USFL), and New Orleans Breakers (USFL). He played eight games for the Salt Lake Stallions and three games for the Dallas Renegades.

In New Orleans, Uhatafe played five games. He was part of an offensive line that helped quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson lead the league in average passing yards (243.3), and running back Wes Hillis led the lead in rushing yards (679).

Collegiately, Uhatafe played four seasons at Utah (2014-18) playing guard in 47 games for the Utes. In 2017, Uhatafe played a total of 814 snaps ranking fourth on the offensive line. He was named a two-time Second Team All-PAC 12.

Anthony Butler is six foot one and weighs 230 pounds. The 26-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, made 25 tackles (16 solo, 9 assists) and two tackles for loss in six games for the Showboats in 2024.

Butler signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2021, but was released five days later. The Memphis Showboats (then the Tampa Bay Bandits) signed Butler on May 12, 2022, and played five games with three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist), two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

In 2023, Butler made 48 tackles (25 solo, 23 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and three pass breakups in ten games for the Showboats.

Collegiately, Butler played four seasons at Charlotte (2016-19) with 146 tackles (62 solo, 84 assists) and 9.5 tackles for loss in 36 games for the 49ers.

Then, Butler transferred to Liberty in 2020 with 67 tackles (32 solo, 35 assists), four tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, and four pass breakups in ten games for the Flames.  

Matt Coghlin is five foot nine and weighs 190 pounds. The 27-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio, was drafted by the Memphis Showboats in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Coghlin finish fourth in field goals (16 of 17 attempts) with a long of 57 yards, and 41 kickoffs for 2,787 yards in 10 games.

The New Orleans Breakers signed Coghlin on March 3, 2023. In 2023, Coghlin made 18 of 19 field goals (94.7%) with a long of 55 yards, made 25 of 25 extra points, 44 kickoffs for 2,962 yards, and three touchbacks in 10 games.

Collegiately, Coghlin played five seasons at Michigan State (2017-21) making 76 of 104 field goals (73%) with a long of 51 yards, 80 kickoffs for 5,013 yards, 51 touchbacks, one carry for six yards, and one touchdown in 57 games for the Spartans.

He was named First Team All-Big Ten in 2018, and a four-time All-Big Ten Honorable Mention. In 2021, Coghlin set the school record for the most points scored (382) and field goals (76).
