Logan Bonner to make first career CFL start on Saturday night

The Calgary Stampeders announced via depth chart on Friday that quarterback Logan Bonner will make his first career CFL start on Saturday against the Edmonton Elks.

Logan Bonner is six foot one and weighs 230 pounds. The 26-year-old from Rowlett, Texas, attended the Indianapolis Colts rookie mini-camp in 2023. The Calgary Stampeders signed Bonner on May 8, 2023. He dressed for nine games but did not record any stats. In 2024, Bonner completed 8 of 14 passes (57.1%) for 94 yards in two games.

Bonner began his collegiate career at Arkansas State (2017-2020) completing 271 of 469 passes (58%) for 3,166 yards, 30 touchdowns, nine interceptions, 66 carries for 62 yards, one touchdown, and two catches for 54 yards in 24 games for the Red Wolves. He was an Honorable Mention All-Sun Belt Conference and Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2020.

Then, Bonner transferred to Utah State (2021-22) completing 325 of 539 passes (60%) for 4,381 yards, 42 touchdowns, 20 interceptions, and 81 carries for 83 yards for the Aggies.

In his final season, Bonner completed 62 of 110 passes for 753 yards, six touchdowns, eight interceptions, and 12 carries for 17 yards in four games. Bonner was named Mountain West Championship Game Offensive MVP in 2021 and Academic All-Mountain West in 2022.
