B.C. Lions place fullback David Mackie on the six-game injured list

The B.C. Lions placed fullback David Mackie (Hamstring) on the six-game injured list on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.

David Mackie is six foot two and weighs 252 pounds. The 28-year-old from Jackson’s Point, Ontario, is having a career year with 24 carries for 101 yards, six touchdowns, six catches for 52 yards, one tackle, and seven tackles on special teams in 13 games in 2024.

The B.C. Lions drafted Mackie in the second round (16th pick) in the 2018 CFL Draft. In six seasons with the Lions, Mackie has 44 carries for 193 yards, seven touchdowns, 30 catches for 203 yards, and three kick returns for 52 yards in 59 games.

Collegiately, Mackie played five seasons at the University of Western Ontario (2013-17) with three carries for 13 yards, 24 catches for 310 yards, one touchdown, four kick returns for 56 yards, 38 tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 36 games for the Mustangs. In 2017, Mackie helped the Mustangs win the Vanier Cup.
