The Villanova Wildcats (3-0) hosted the Towson Tigers (1-2) on Saturday afternoon from Villanova Stadium. Villanova had 351 yards on offense (116 yards passing, 235 yards rushing), and 20 first downs to beat the Tigers 14-13 for their third win in a row.
Quarterback Connor Watkins completed 14 of 25 passes (56%) for 116 yards, two touchdowns, and 13 carries for 65 yards. Running back Isaiah Ragland had 17 carries for 141 yards. Wide receiver Jaylan Sanchez made four catches for 59 yards, and two touchdowns, and Kenyon Miles made two catches for 19 yards. Villanova’s defense made 58 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble.
Towson had 394 yards on offense (233 yards passing, 161 yards rushing), and 17 first downs. Quarterback Sean Brown completed 20 of 36 passes (55%) for 233 yards, one touchdown, and five carries for -4 yards. Running back Devin Matthews had 14 carries for 135 yards, and two catches for eight yards.
Tight end Carter Runyan made six catches for 88 yards, and one touchdown, and John Dunmore made five catches for 64 yards. Towson’s defense made 61 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
