The Michigan Panthers re-signed defensive back Corrion Ballard on Monday according to the UFL Transaction page.
Corrion Ballard is six foot three and weighs 205 pounds. The 26-year-old from Houston, Texas, made 30 tackles (16 solo, 14 assists), and two pass breakups in eight games. In the 2024 USFL Conference Championship Game against the Birmingham Stallions, Ballard made three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist).
Ballard signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2019. He was released on August 31, 2019. Ballard also spent time with the Calgary Stampeders, and the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) in 2020 making four tackles (4 solo) in five games before the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
Next, Ballard signed with the Massachusetts Pirates (IFL) in 2022. He made 15 tackles (12 solo, 3 assists), half tackle for loss, half a sack, and one forced fumble in three games. Then, Ballard signed with the Michigan Panthers (USFL) on April 26, 2022. He made 14 tackles (9 solo, 5 assists) in three games in 2022.
In 2023, Ballard made 50 tackles (34 solo, 16 assists) and one interception for five yards in nine games. In the 2023 USFL playoffs, Ballard made seven tackles (5 solo, 2 assists) against the Pittsburgh Maulers.
Collegiately, Ballard played two seasons at Blinn College (2015-16) making 60 tackles (27 solo, 33 assists), five sacks, three interceptions, 11 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 16 games for the Buccaneers. He was named First Team All-SJCFC and Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Then, Ballard transferred to Utah (2017-18) making 115 tackles (79 solo, 36 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions for 58 yards, 12 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 27 games for the Utes. He was an All-PAC Honorable Mention in 2018.
