The Villanova Wildcats (3-1) visited SECU Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Maryland Terrapins (3-1). Villanova had 231 yards on offense (156 yards passing, 75 yards rushing), and 20 first downs in a 38-20 loss.

Quarterback Connor Watkins completed 12 of 29 passes (41.4%) for 106 yards, one touchdown, and 12 carries for 12 yards. Running back Ja’briel Mace had two carries for 24 yards.

Wide receiver Devin Smith made five catches for 62 yards, and one touchdown, while Isaiah Ragland made two catches for 30 yards. Villanova’s defense made 64 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one interception, one sack, and one pass breakup.

Maryland had 497 yards on offense (338 yards passing, 159 yards rushing), and 25 first downs. Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. completed 28 of 32 passes (88%) for 328 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and three carries for five yards. Running back Roman Hemby had 14 carries for 67 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Tai Felton made 14 catches for 157 yards, and one touchdown, and Kaden Prather made six catches for 57 yards and one touchdown. Maryland’s defense made 54 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, and two pass breakups.
