The Penn State Nittany Lions (3-0) hosted the Kent State Golden Flashes (0-4) on Saturday afternoon from Beaver Stadium. Penn State had 718 yards on offense (409 yards passing, 309 yards rushing), and 40 first downs as the Nittany Lions shut out the Golden Flashes 56-0.
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar completed 17 of 21 passes (81%) for 309 yards, three touchdowns, five carries for 26 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Nicholas Singleton had 11 carries for 81 yards, two catches for 22 yards, and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Omari Evans made four catches for 116 yards, and one touchdown, while Liam Clifford made three catches for 64 yards and one touchdown. Penn State’s defense made 43 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and four pass breakups.
Kent State had 67 yards on offense (18 yards passing, 49 yards rushing), and six first downs. Quarterback JD Sherrod completed 2 of 6 passes (33%) for 18 yards, and six carries for 11 yards. Running back Ayden Harris had 10 carries for 20 yards.
Wide receiver Ardell Banks made one catch for 13 yards, and Luke Floriea made one catch for five yards. Kent State’s defense made 80 tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception, one sack, and two pass breakups.
