The Memphis Showboats re-signed wide receiver Daewood Davis on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Daewood Davis is six foot two and weighs 195 pounds. The 25-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2023. He played three preseason games for the Miami Dolphins. He was targeted two times but never made a catch.
Then, Davis signed with the Memphis Showboats on September 14, 2023. In 2024, Davis made 41 catches for 446 yards, five touchdowns, and two carries for 17 yards in 10 games. Davis was named to the All-UFL Team.
The Showboats released Davis on June 17, 2024, and he signed with the Carolina Panthers on June 18, 2024. Davis did not play in the preseason due to a thigh injury. The Panthers released him on August 9, 2024.
Collegiately, Davis was a cornerback in 2017 before switching to wide receiver in 2018. He played four seasons at Oregon (2017-20) with ten catches for 102 yards, one touchdown, and four kick returns for 93 yards in 21 games for the Ducks.
Then, he transferred to Western Kentucky (2021-22) with 106 for 1,635 yards, and two carries for seven yards in 26 games for the Hilltoppers. He was named Conference USA Honorable Mention in 2022.
