The San Antonio Brahmas signed linebacker/defensive back Tariq Carpenter on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Tariq Carpenter is six foot three and weighs 230 pounds. The 25-year-old from Ludowici, Georgia, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (228th pick) of the 2022 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Carpenter made eight tackles (6 solo, 2 assists) in 14 games.
The Packers released him on August 30, 2023. Next, Carpenter signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 4, 2023. He made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in two games. The Steelers released him on December 18, 2023.
Collegiately, Carpenter played five seasons at Georgia Tech (2017-21) making 223 tackles (153 solo, 70 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, 22 pass breakups, and four interceptions for 49 yards in 52 games for the Yellow Jackets.
