The Calgary Stampeders signed wide receiver Jesiah Irish, defensive linemen Jett Bush and Brandon Matterson, and linebacker Marquel Lee to the practice squad on Sunday.
Jesiah Irish is five foot eleven and weighs 174 pounds. The 24-year-old from Snoqualmie, Washington, attended the Seattle Seahawks rookie minicamp in 2024.
Collegiately, Irish played six seasons at Oregon State (2018-23) making 27 catches for 456 yards, two touchdowns, 18 carries for 114 yards, one touchdown, 22 kick returns for 478 yards, 16 punt returns for 135 yards, and 18 tackles (10 solo, 8 assists) in 56 games for the Beavers.
In 2023, Irish made 18 catches for 302 yards, one touchdown, five carries for 14 yards, one kick return for 29 yards, and five tackles (2 solo, 3 assists) in 12 games. He was named an All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention.
Jett Bush is six foot two and weighs 243 pounds. The 23-year-old from Houston, Texas, attended the New England Patriots rookie minicamp in 2024.
Collegiately, Bush played five seasons at Texas (2019-23) making 63 tackles (37 solo, 26 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception for 43 yards, one touchdown, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
In 2023, Bush made 17 tackles (8 solo, 9 assists), three tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for 43 yards, one touchdown, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 14 games.
Brandon Matterson is six foot two and weighs 295 pounds. The 24-year-old from San Antonio, Texas, signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. The Broncos released him on August 2, 2024. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him on August 19, 2024. The Buccaneers released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Matterson played six seasons at the University of Texas-San Antonio (2018-23) making 101 tackles (45 solo, 56 assists), 15.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one pass breakup in 59 games for the Roadrunners. In 2023, Matterson made 14 tackles (7 solo, 7 assists), six tackles for loss, five sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games.
Marquel Lee is six foot three and weighs 234 pounds. The 28-year-old from San Diego, California, signed with the Arlington Renegades (UFL) on January 22, 2024. In 2024, Lee made 54 tackles (32 solo, 22 assists), two tackles for loss, and one pass breakup in 10 games.
The Oakland Raiders drafted Lee in the fifth round (168th pick) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played four seasons with the Raiders making 115 tackles (71 solo, 44 assists), six tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits in 45 games, of which 19 were starts. He also spent time with the Buffalo Bills.
Collegiately, Lee played four seasons at Wake Forest (2013-16) making 291 tackles (143 solo, 148 assists), 42 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and four forced fumbles in 46 games for the Demon Decans. He was named First Team All-ACC by AP, and Second Team All-ACC in 2016.
