The Arlington Renegades re-signed wide receiver Isaiah Winstead and offensive lineman Marcus Minor on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Isaiah Winstead is six foot four and weighs 213 pounds. The 24-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He made four catches for 54 yards in two preseason games for the San Francisco 49ers in 2023.
Next, Winstead signed with the Arlington Renegades on January 20, 2024. In 2024, he made 12 catches for 175 yards and two touchdowns in 7 games. The Renegades released Winstead on August 1, 2024, and he signed with the New York Jets on August 2, 2024. He appeared in three preseason games and was targeted four times making no catches. The Jets released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Winstead played two seasons at Norfolk State (2017-18) with 83 catches for 977 yards, eight touchdowns, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 22 games for the Spartans. In his sophomore year, Winstead led NSU in all major receiving categories, including catches (54), yards (633) and touchdowns (5).
Next, Winstead transferred to Toledo (2020-21) with 63 catches for 949 yards, and four touchdowns in 19 games for the Rockets. He was named Third Team All-MAC in 2020.
Then, Winstead transferred to East Carolina in 2022 with 88 catches for 1,085 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games for the Pirates. He was named Third Team All-AAC by Phil Steele in 2022.
Marcus Minor is six foot four and weighs 310 pounds. The 26-year-old from Lanham, Maryland, was drafted by the Arlington Renegades in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. He started nine games for the Renegades in 2024. Arlington’s offense ranked second in total yards (3,119), passing yards (2,277), yards per game (311.9), sixth in rushing (842), and tied third for touchdowns (27).
Minor attended the Baltimore Ravens Rookie minicamp in 2023. Then, Minor signed with the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) on October 24, 2023. However, the Roughnecks were not included in the XFL and USFL merger forming the United Football League (UFL), but the brand was transferred to the Houston Gamblers as part of their rebrand.
Collegiately, Minor played four seasons at Maryland (2017-20) playing right guard and right tackle in 26 games for the Terrapins. In 2020, Maryland’s offense helped Taulia Tagovailoa, who threw for 676 passing yards in the two wins against Minnesota and Penn State, the most passing yards in back-to-back wins since Scott Milanovich in 1994.
Then, he transferred to Pittsburgh (2021-22) playing left guard in 26 games for the Panthers. In 2021, Pittsburgh’s offense averaged a school-record 41.4 points and 486.6 yards per game. He was named First Team All-ACC in 2022.
