The Toronto Argonauts signed defensive lineman Isaiah Chambers on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Isaiah Chambers is six foot five and weighs 251 pounds. The 26-year-old from Houston, Texas, signed with the Houston Gamblers signed Chambers as a free agent on May 31, 2022, but did not play that season. In 2023, he made 30 tackles (22 solo, 8 assists), 12 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in ten games.
After the Gamblers were rebranded as the Houston Roughnecks, Chambers re-signed with them on March 13, 2024. The Houston Roughnecks released him on March 21, 2024.
Collegiately, Chambers started at TCU (2016-17) but never played a game for the Horned Frogs. Next, he transferred to Houston (2018-19) with 23 tackles (13 solo, 10 assists), 12 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 15 games for the Cougars.
Then, Chambers transferred to McNeese State (2020-21) with 91 tackles (56 solo, 35 assists), 29.5 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, five pass breakups, and five forced fumbles in 18 games for the Cowboys. He was named First Team All-Southland Conference and Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2021.
