The D.C. Defenders re-signed defensive back Montae Nicholson on Friday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Montae Nicholson is six foot two and weighs 212 pounds. The 28-year-old from Monroeville, Pennsylvania, re-signed with the D.C. Defenders on January 30, 2024. In 2024, he made 23 tackles (15 solo, 8 assists), two interceptions, and two pass breakups in six games.
The Washington Redskins drafted Nicholson in the fourth round (123rd pick) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Washington making 126 tackles (92 solo, 34 assists), seven pass breakups, three interceptions for 23 yards, and two fumble recoveries in 35 games.
The D.C. Defenders signed Nicholson on March 8, 2023. In 2023, he made six tackles (4 solo, 2 assists) and one pass breakup in five games.
Collegiately, Nicholson played three seasons at Michigan State (2014-16) making 200 tackles (109 solo, 91 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions for 70 yards, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and one kick return for 17 yards in 38 games for the Spartans.
