The Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens (5-0) visited Kessler Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Monmouth Hawks (3-3). Delaware had 607 yards on offense (298 yards passing, 309 yards rushing), and 26 first downs as they held on to a 42-35 win over Monmouth.

Delaware quarterback Zach Marker completed 16 of 33 passes (48.5%) for 298 yards, three touchdowns, eight carries for 26 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Marcus Yarns had 22 carries for 142 yards, one touchdown, one catch for 86 yards, and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Phil Lutz made six catches for 91 yards, and two touchdowns, while Max Patterson made three catches for 86 yards. Delaware’s defense made 57 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, one pass breakup, and one blocked kick.

Monmouth had 473 yards on offense (361 yards passing, 112 yards rushing), and 18 first downs. Quarterback Derek Robertson completed 19 of 35 passes (54.3%) for 361 yards, four touchdowns, one interception, and three carries for two yards. Running back Sone Ntoh had nine carries for 21 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver T.J. Speight made six catches for 133 yards, and one touchdown, while Gavin Nelson made five catches for 131 yards, and one touchdown, and Tra Neal made four catches for 48 yards, and one touchdown. Monmouth’s defense made 78 tackles, three tackles for loss, and five pass breakups.
