Kyle Monangai scores Rutgers’s only touchdown in a blowout loss to Wisconsin

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-2) hosted the Wisconsin Badgers (4-2) on Saturday afternoon from SHI Stadium. Rutgers had 271 yards on offense (103 yards passing, 168 yards rushing), and 14 first downs in a 42-7 loss. It was the Rutgers’s second straight loss.

Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 12 of 32 passes (38%) for 103 yards, one interception, and six carries for 48 yards. Running back Kyle Monangai had 19 carries for 72 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for 5 yards.

Wide receiver Christian Dremel made two catches for 54 yards, while Dymere Miller made four catches for 17 yards. Rutgers’s defense made 89 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and three pass breakups.

Wisconsin had 549 yards on offense (240 yards passing, 309 yards rushing), and 24 first downs. Quarterback Braedyn Locke completed 20 of 28 passes (71.4%) for 240 yards, one touchdown, one interception, three carries for six yards, and one touchdown. Running back Tawee Walker had 24 carries for 198 yards, three touchdowns, and one catch for three yards.

Wide receiver Vinny Anthony II made two catches for 81 yards, while Will Pauling made four catches for 49 yards and one touchdown. Wisconsin’s defense made 66 tackles, two tackles for loss, one interception, and five pass breakups.
