The Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens (6-0) hosted the Maine Black Bears (3-3) on Saturday afternoon from Delaware Stadium. Delaware had 458 yards on offense (279 yards passing, 179 yards rushing), and 25 first downs as they remain undefeated with a 44-21 win over Maine.
Quarterback Zach Marker completed 20 of 31 passes (64.5%) for 279 yards, three touchdowns, and seven carries for 10 yards. Running back Quincy Watson had 12 carries for 66 yards, and one touchdown, while Jo’Nathan Silver had four carries for 50 yards and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Phil Lutz made five catches for 133 yards, and one touchdown, while Jake Thaw made five catches for 34 yards and one touchdown. Delaware’s defense made 52 tackles, five tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, three interceptions, and four pass breakups.
Maine had 229 yards on offense (147 yards passing, 82 yards rushing), and 16 first downs. Quarterback Carter Peevy completed 15 of 25 passes (60%) for 147 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions, and three carries for 14 yards. Running back Tavion Banks had 12 carries for 20 yards, and one touchdown, while Jaharie Martin had four carries for 19 yards and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Montigo Moss made four catches for 51 yards, and one touchdown, while Molayo Irefin made one catch for 28 yards. Maine’s defense made 87 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, two pass breakups, and one blocked kick.
