The Penn State Nittany Lions (6-0) visited the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday afternoon against the USC Trojans (3-3). Penn State’s offense had 518 yards (400 yards passing, 118 yards rushing), and 28 first downs to beat USC 33-30 in overtime.
Quarterback Drew Allar completed 30 of 43 passes (70%) for 391 yards, two touchdowns, three interceptions, and four carries for 32 yards. Running back Kaytron Allen had 16 carries for 56 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for nine yards, while Nicholas Singleton had 10 carries for 26 yards, four catches for 39 yards, and one touchdown.
Tight end Tyler Warren made 17 catches for 224 yards, and one touchdown, while Harrison Wallace III made three catches for 53 yards. Penn State’s defense made 52 tackles, six tackles on special teams, one sack, one interception, and four pass breakups.
USC had 409 yards on offense (220 yards passing, 189 yards rushing), and 16 first downs. Quarterback Miller Moss completed 20 of 34 passes (59%) for 220 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and one carry for -4 yards. Running back Quinten Joyner had three carries for 82 yards, one touchdown, two catches for 12 yards, and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Makai Lemon made six catches for 73 yards, while Kyron Hudson made four catches for 36 yards and one touchdown. USC’s defense made 77 tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions, and five pass breakups.
