The B.C. Lions released wide receivers Devin Ravenel and Bryce Watts from the practice squad on Tuesday.
Devin Ravenel is six foot and weighs 171 pounds. The 24-year-old from Stafford, Virginia, attended the Baltimore Ravens rookie minicamp in 2023. The B.C. Lions signed Ravenel on November 27, 2023. In 2024, Ravenel made four catches for 47 yards, one tackle, one kick return for 38 yards, and one punt return for -5 yards in two preseason games and earned a spot on the practice squad.
Collegiately, Ravenel played five seasons at James Madison (2018-22) with 48 catches for 692 yards, 11 touchdowns, 3 carries for 18 yards, 1 kick return for 43 yards, and 1 touchdown in 48 games of the Dukes.
Bryce Watts is six foot and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Toms River, New Jersey, signed with the B.C. Lions on December 27, 2023. He did not play for the Lions in 2024 and spent the season on the practice squad.
Watts signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2022. Watts suffered an injury and was released on May 23, 2022. In 2023, he spent time with the St. Louis Battlehawks, Arlington Renegades, and New Orleans Saints.
Collegiately, Watts played two seasons at Virginia Tech (2017-18) making 29 tackles (28 solo, 1 assist), one interception, and seven pass breakups in 25 games for the Hokies. Next, Watts transferred to North Carolina (2019-20) but never played a game for the Tar Heels. Then, Watts transferred to the University of Massachusetts in 2021 making 43 tackles (25 solo, 18 assist), one interception for seven yards, and five pass breakups for the Minutemen.
