The Edmonton Elks signed placekicker Vincent Blanchard to the practice squad on Saturday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Vincent Blanchard is six foot one and weighs 210 pounds. The 26-year-old from Quebec, Quebec, was drafted by the Edmonton Elks in the fourth round (31st pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft.

He attended the New England Patriots rookie minicamp in 2024. In 2024, Blanchard made 1 of 2 field goals (50%) with a long of 47 yards and four kickoffs for 272 yards in two preseason games. The Elks released him on June 1, 2024.

Collegiately, Blanchard played three seasons at the University of Laval (2021-23) making 37 of 50 field goals (74%) with a long of 47 yards and made 68 of 68 extra points (100%) in 21 games for the Rouge Et Or.

In 2023, Blanchard made 16 of 17 field goals (94%) with a long of 46 yards and made 20 of 20 extra points (100%) in seven games as he was named Second Team All-Canadian. In 2022, Blanchard made 15 of 19 field goals (79%) with a long of 47 yards and made 20 of 20 extra points helping Laval win the 2022 Vanier Cup.
