The Temple Owls (2-5) hosted the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes (2-5) on Saturday afternoon from Lincoln Financial Field. Temple had 397 yards on offense (316 yards passing, 81 yards rushing), and 21 first downs as the Owls defeated the Golden Hurricanes 20-10.
Quarterback Evan Simon completed 30 of 46 passes (65.2%) for 297 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Running back Terrez Worthy had 12 carries for 41 yards, one touchdown, and six catches for 13 yards.
Wide receiver Landon Morris made four catches for 97 yards, and Antonio Jones made four catches for 47 yards. Temple’s defense made 39 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, and two pass breakups.
Tulsa had 240 yards on offense (165 yards passing, 75 yards rushing), and 17 first downs. Quarterback Kirk Francis completed 11 of 23 passes (48%) for 148 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and eight carries for -4 yards. Running back Anthony Watkins had seven carries for 23 yards, three catches for 73 yards, and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Kamdyn Benjamin made three catches for 29 yards, while Joseph Williams made two catches for 21 yards. Tulsa’s defense made 75 tackles, six tackles for loss, one interception, and four pass breakups.
