The Temple Owls (2-6) visited Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the East Carolina Pirates (4-4). Temple had 405 yards on offense (294 yards passing, 111 yards rushing), and 23 first downs in a 56-34 loss to the Pirates.

Temple quarterback Evan Simon completed 23 of 41 passes (56.1%) for 294 yards, 3 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 10 carries for three yards, and one touchdown. Running back Terrez Worthy had 20 carries for 88 yards, one touchdown, and one catch for four yards.

Wide receiver Ashton Allen made four catches for 109 yards, and two touchdowns, while Landon Morris made five catches for 81 yards and one touchdown. Temple’s defense made 56 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions, and four pass breakups.

East Carolina had 500 yards on offense (269 yards passing, 231 yards rushing), and 19 first downs. Quarterback Katin Houser completed 16 of 29 passes (55.1%) for 269 yards, 5 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and two carries for seven yards. Running back Rahjai Harris had 11 carries for 117 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Chase Sowell made four catches for 117 yards, and one touchdown, while Anthony Smith made four catches for 101 yards and one touchdown. East Carolina’s defense made 80 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, three interceptions, and one touchdown.
