The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed defensive back Robert Javier to a future contract starting in 2025 on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Robert Javier is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 24-year-old from Bronx, New York, signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. Javier played three preseason games making one tackle (1 solo). The Titans released him on August 27, 2024.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Javier on September 25, 2024, and spent three weeks on the practice squad. The Roughriders released him on October 13, 2024.

Collegiately, Javier played four seasons at Towson (2019, 2021-23) making 77 tackles (55 solo, 22 assists), half a tackle for loss, six interceptions for 212 yards, two touchdowns, and 26 pass breakups in 36 games for the Tigers.

In 2022, Javier made 37 tackles (25 solo, 12 assists), half a tackle for loss, two interceptions for 167 yards, two touchdowns, and 14 pass breakups in 10 games. He finished the season tied for first in the CAA in pass breakups and tied a Towson single-season record with pick-six touchdowns.

In 2023, Javier made 29 tackles (22 solo, 7 assists), four interceptions for 45 yards, and 12 pass breakups in 11 games. His four interceptions led Towson and finished second in the CAA in that category. He was named a two-time Second All-CAA by Phil Steele (2022-23) and Second Team All-CAA in 2023.
