The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed defensive back Nick Taylor to the practice squad on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Nick Taylor is five foot nine and weighs 187 pounds. The 36-year-old from Hollywood, Florida, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on October 20, 2024. He spent three days on the practice squad before the Blue Bombers released him on October 24, 2024.

Taylor signed with the Minnesota Vikings on March 16, 2012. He was released by the Vikings on April 30, 2012. Taylor also played for the Orlando Predators (AFL) in 2015 making 102 tackles (72 solo, 30 assists), 20 pass breakups, four interceptions for 54 yards, one touchdown, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two kick returns for one yard.

The Ottawa Redblacks signed Taylor on June 19, 2016. He played two seasons in Ottawa making 62 tackles, one tackle on special teams, one interception, and one forced fumble in 17 games helping the Redblacks win the Grey Cup in 2016.

Next, Taylor signed with the Edmonton Eskimos (now Elks) on February 4, 2018. He played two seasons making 51 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble in 17 games. The Elks released him on August 8, 2019. Then, he signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on August 19, 2019. Taylor made five tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble in four games helping the Blue Bombers win the Grey Cup in 2019.

He re-signed with the Blue Bombers on January 4, 2021. In 2021, Taylor made 31 tackles in 12 games helping Winnipeg win another Grey Cup championship. It was Taylor’s third Grey Cup championship. He played three seasons in Winnipeg making 80 tackles, two tackles on special teams, four interceptions, and one forced fumble in 29 games.

Taylor signed with the Calgary Stampeders on April 21, 2023. In 2023, Taylor made 25 tackles, one tackle on special teams, one interception, and one forced fumble in 11 games.

Collegiately, Taylor did not play college football. Instead, he played college basketball at Florida International (2007-09) averaging 17.6 minutes per game in 74 games for the Panthers.
