The Toronto Argonauts signed wide receiver Marquis McClain to a future contract starting in 2025 on Sunday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Marquis McClain is six foot two and weighs 215 pounds. The 27-year-old from Crestview, Florida, went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft and attended the New York Jets rookie minicamp. He signed with the New Orleans Breakers (USFL) on May 20, 2022. He appeared in one game for the Breakers against the Pittsburgh Maulers and was targeted two times recording no stats.

McClain signed with the Jacksonville Sharks (IFL) on January 18, 2024. In 2024, McClain made seven catches for 45 yards, one touchdown, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in three games.

Collegiately, McClain played three seasons at Auburn (2017-19) making three catches for 84 yards and three tackles (2 solo, 1 assist) in 38 games for the Tigers. Then, McClain transferred to Southern (2020-21) making 40 catches for 567 yards, five touchdowns, 9 carries for 110 yards, two touchdowns, two kick returns for 71 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 15 games for the Jaguars.
