The Michigan Panthers re-signed offensive lineman Jacob Burton on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Jacob Burton is six foot six and weighs 312 pounds. The 27-year-old from Alpine, California, was drafted by the Michigan Panthers in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft.

In 2024, he played 10 games, of which 9 were starts. Michigan’s offense was ranked third in total yards (3,007), second in rushing yards (1,252), sixth in passing yards (1,755), third in yards per game (300.7), and tied third in touchdowns (27).

After the season, the Panthers released him on July 31, 2024, and he signed with the Detroit Lions on August 1, 2024. He played in three preseason games and the Lions released him on August 27, 2024.

Jacob Burton signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2021. He spent part of the season on the practice squad. Then, the Philadelphia Stars drafted Burton in the seventh round (55th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. Burton played a key role for the Stars in 2022 playing nine games, of which eight were starts.

Philadelphia’s offense ranked sixth in passing (184 yards per game), fifth in rushing (103.4 yards per game), and 31 touchdowns when the Stars reached the 2022 USFL Championship Game against the Birmingham Stallions.

In 2023, Burton nine games at right tackle and right guard for the Stars in 2023. The Stars’ offense ranked third in passing (213.3 yards per game), finished last in rushing (77 yards per game), 20 touchdowns, and allowed a league-high 29 sacks.

Collegiately, Burton played three seasons at UCLA (2017-19) playing 29 games at right tackle for the Bruins. In 2020, he transferred to Baylor and played eight games at right guard for the Bears.
