The D.C. Defenders signed offensive lineman Darrell Simpson on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Darrell Simpson is six foot one and weighs 335 pounds. The 25-year-old from Justin, Texas, signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. He played three preseason games and the Ravens released him on August 26, 2024.

Collegiately, Simpson played four seasons at Oklahoma (2018-21) playing one game for the Sooners against Western Carolina in 2021. Then, Simpson transferred to Tulsa (2022-23) playing right tackle and right guard in 24 games for the Golden Hurricanes.

In 2023, Tulsa averaged 23.42 points per game, 181.1 average rushing yards per game, 204.67 passing yards per game, 385.8 average total yards, and 33 touchdowns. Simpson was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2023.
