The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-4) hosted the Minnesota Golden Gophers (6-4) on Saturday afternoon from SHI Stadium. Rutgers had 349 yards on offense (240 yards passing, 109 yards rushing), and 19 first downs as they beat the Golden Gophers 26-19 snapping a four-game losing streak.
Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 17 of 33 passes (51%) for 240 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, and three carries for -19 yards. Running back Antwan Raymond had 22 carries for 73 yards.
Wide receiver Dymere Miller made five catches for 58 yards, and two touchdowns, while Ian Strong made four catches for 89 yards and one touchdown. Rutgers’s defense made 61 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and eight pass breakups.
Minnesota had 297 yards on offense (262 yards passing, 35 yards rushing), and 18 first downs. Quarterback Max Brosmer completed 27 of 45 passes (60%) for 262 yards, one touchdown, and seven carries for -2 yards. Running back Darius Taylor had 10 carries for 28 yards and one touchdown.
Tight end Jameson Geers made eight catches for 73 yards, while Marcus Major made two catches for 20 yards and one touchdown. Minnesota’s defense made 76 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass breakups, and one interception.
