Temple gets blown out by Tulane for their second straight loss

The Temple Owls (2-7) visited Yulman Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Tulane Green Wave (8-2). Temple had 158 yards on offense (56 yards passing, 102 yards rushing), and five first downs in a 52-6 loss. It’s Temple’s second straight loss.

Temple quarterback Evan Simon completed 11 of 22 passes (50%) for 56 yards, and 13 carries for five yards. Running back Terrez Worthy had five carries for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Daniel Evert made one catch for 16 yards, while Jamar Taylor Jr. made two catches for 15 yards. Temple’s defense made 73 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception.

Tulane had 589 yards on offense (262 yards passing, 327 yards rushing), and 26 first downs. Quarterback Darian Mensah completed 14 of 21 passes (66%) for 262 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and three carries for five yards. Running back Makhi Hughes had 19 carries for 153 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Mario Williams made four catches for 94 yards, while Shazz Preston made one catch for 53 yards, and one touchdown. Tulane’s defense made 35 tackles, six tackles for loss, six sacks, and four pass breakups.
