Helvetic Mercenaries sign quarterback Isaiah Weed

The Helvetic Mercenaries signed quarterback Isaiah Weed on Saturday.

Isaiah Weed is six foot three and weighs 196 pounds. The 27-year-old from Bonney Lake, Washington, has experience playing in Europe with Serbia (Kragujevac Wild Boars), Austria (AFL Swarco Raiders), Germany (Hildesheim Invaders, Rostock Griffins), Denmark (Aarhus Tigers).

In 2022, he played for the Swarco Raiders (AFL) completing 183 of 302 passes (61%) for 2,072 yards, 25 touchdowns, nine interceptions, 86 carries for 555 yards, and six touchdowns in ten games.

Next, Weed played for the Rostock Griffins (GFL2) in 2023 completing 193 of 296 passes (65.2%) for 2,534 yards, 32 touchdowns, 69 carries for 469 yards, and eight touchdowns in nine games leading the Griffins to the GFL2 Championship in a 52-45 loss to the Hildesheim Invaders. Weed was named Offensive MVP.

The Cologne Centurions signed Weed on December 13, 2023. In 2024, Weed completed 222 of 360 passes (61.7%) for 2,553 yards, 17 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 85 carries for 702 yards, and 8 touchdowns in 12 games.

Collegiately, Weed played two seasons at Minot State University (2015-16) completing 169 of 292 passes (58%) for 1,812 yards, eight touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 98 carries for 65 yards, and one touchdown in 15 games for the Beavers.

Then, Weed transferred to Northern Oklahoma State (2017-18) completing 204 of 349 passes (58%) for 2,599 yards, 23 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 157 carries for 492 yards, and 10 touchdowns in 15 games for the Rangers.
