Rutgers defeats Maryland to extend their winning streak to three games

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-4) visited SECU Stadium on Saturday night against the Maryland Terrapins (4-6). Rutgers had 370 yards on offense (238 yards passing, 132 yards rushing), and 24 first downs in a 31-17 win over the Terrapins.

Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 20 of 30 passes (66%) for 238 yards, two touchdowns, and seven carries for 26 yards. Running back Kyle Monangai had 25 carries for 97 yards, two touchdowns, and one catch for three yards.

Wide receiver Dymere Miller made eight catches for 107 yards, and one touchdown, while Ian Strong made seven catches for 86 yards and one touchdown. Rutgers’s defense made 60 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and five pass breakups.

Maryland had 457 yards on offense (335 yards passing, 122 yards rushing), and 26 first downs. Maryland quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. completed 32 of 55 passes (58%) for 335 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and seven carries for 28 yards. Running back Roman Hemby had 16 carries for 87 yards and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Dylan Wade made seven catches for 92 yards, while Tai Felton made six catches for 61 yards, and one touchdown. Maryland’s defense made 52 tackles, six tackles for loss, and three pass breakups.
