Report: Birmingham Stallions to sign DE Bradlee Anae and DB Stantley Thomas-Oliver III

The Birmingham Stallions are set to sign defensive end Bradlee Anae and defensive back Stantley Thomas-Oliver III on Monday according to Pro Football Newsroom writer James Larsen.

Bradlee Anae is six foot three and weighs 260 pounds. The 26-year-old from Laie, Hawaii, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (179th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Dallas making two tackles (2 solos) in 11 games. He became a free agent after the 2021 season.

The New York Jets signed Anae on January 19, 2022. In 2022, he made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist), and one sack in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2023, he was placed on injured reserve and did not play the season. He became a free agent after the 2023 season.

The Atlanta Falcons signed Anae on May 13, 2024. In 2024, he made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists), and 1.5 sacks in three preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 25, 2024.

Collegiately, Anae played four seasons at Utah (2016-19) making 135 tackles (86 solos, 49 assists), 41.5 tackles for loss, 30 sacks, four pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 47 games for the Utes. He was named a two-time First Team All-PAC 12, Consensus All-American, and won the Morris Trophy in 2019.

Stantley Thomas-Oliver III is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 26-year-old from Tallahassee, Florida, was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round (221st pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Carolina making 17 tackles (12 solos, 5 assists) in 25 games. In 2023, he made one tackle (1 solo) in one preseason game. The Panthers released him on September 22, 2023.

The New York Giants signed Thomas-Oliver III on October 30, 2023, and spent the season on the practice squad. In 2024, an injury prevented him from playing and he was released on July 31, 2024.

Collegiately, Thomas-Oliver III played four seasons at Florida International University (2016-19) playing wide receiver and defensive back making 94 tackles (77 solos, 17 assists), 7 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions for 23 yards, 20 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, 36 catches for 489 yards, and one touchdown in 43 games for the Panthers.

He was named Conference USA All-Freshman Team, All-Conference USA Honorable Mention, and Second Team All-Conference USA. He was invited to play in the 2020 East-West Shrine Bowl and the 2020 Tropical Bowl.
