The Temple Owls (3-8) visited the Alamodome on Friday night in their final road game of the season against the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners (6-5). Temple had 289 yards on offense (219 yards passing, 70 yards rushing), and 13 first downs in a 51-27 loss to the Roadrunners.
Temple quarterback Evan Simon completed 13 of 32 passes (40.6%) for 219 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and nine carries for -32 yards. Running back Antwain Littleton had 18 carries for 64 yards, one touchdown, and two catches for two yards.
Wide receiver Dante Wright made five catches for 128 yards, and two touchdowns, while Kajiya Hollawayne made one catch for 59 yards. Temple’s defense made 68 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
UTSA had 529 yards on offense (220 yards passing, 309 yards rushing), and 18 first downs. Quarterback Owen McCown completed 20 of 27 passes (74%) for 220 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, six carries for 75 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Robert Henry had 16 carries for 178 yards, two touchdowns, and one catch for two yards.
Wide receiver David Amador II made seven catches for 63 yards, while Willie McCoy made three catches for 48 yards and one touchdown. UTSA’s defense made 56 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, six sacks, seven pass breakups, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown.
